Our mission is to provide meaningful tools and resources for all of those who are affected by mood disorders. This includes our extensive web TV library where we interview people across a broad spectrum of disciplines and experiences in the world of mood disorder. One of the guiding understandings of the foundation is that mood disorders do not just affect the patient but extend far beyond to include spouses, children, parents, siblings, employers and entire communities. This approach has been extremely helpful to those visitors to our web site by meeting people where they are versus trying to express a certain bias or direction. The only real absolute message we have is to seek help if you believe that you may be suffering from a mood disorder and to not stop treatment until there is full remission. This is not a pipe dream or a general goal of the foundation but a rule. To that end we are committed in providing the most current video education experience available along with useful tools to aid in recovery. We are currently funded by the charitable trust established by Cheryl Herman, who upon her death from breast cancer left a portion of her estate to start this work. Her wish was to forward the understanding of mood disorders and help those on the road to recovery.
